As to why. I'd say if you are having a car this rare (the car is a UK import 55 RHD vert) restored and you have the money then why not. Sure no one will see it when its finished, but as the owner you'll know its there, and there is the old saying that "if your going to do a job do it properly" and i think its fair to say that this is definitely a "proper job"!

I think its great that a car of this level is being built in the UK and really showing that its not just the US that can raise the bar when it comes to custom VWs.
